There comes a time in most peoples lives when security for one reason or another becomes an essential aspect. Over the course of this blog we will analyze some of the aspects of personal security. Identification and solution. According to Wikipedia:
“Security is the degree of resistance to, or protection from harm. It applies to any vulnerable and valuable asset, such as a person, dwelling, community, nation, or organization.”
As noted by the Institute for Security and Open Methodologies (ISECOM) in the OSSTMM 3, security provides “a form of protection where a separation is created between the assets and the threat.” These separations are generically called “controls,” and sometimes include changes to the asset or the threat.
If you are fortunate enough to live on a large piece of real estate such as a farm or a ranch. Security threats become easier to identify but may be more difficult to find a solution. Often-times the assumption that a weapon ready at “condition 1”; Condition 1 is the condition that many police officers may carry their weapon – that is magazine locked and round chambered. What is euphemistically called “cocked and locked.” According to “concealed”.
Even if you reside in a “ccw” or “conceal carry weapon” state you must be well trained in self-defense laws and how to operate your weapon safely. There are a multitude of resources for taking classes to get you up to speed on this type of security. We will touch on that in later articles.
